Frequently Asked Questions

How does Auto Walk Detection work?

WalkCrowd uses your phone’s motion sensors and GPS to detect when you’re walking. If you move at walking pace (2–7 km/h) for 30 seconds or more, a walk starts automatically. It stops after 3 minutes of inactivity. You can turn Auto Walk Detection on or off at any time from the Profile screen.

Why does the app need “Always” location access?

“Always” permission lets WalkCrowd track your walks even when the app is in the background or your phone is locked. Without this permission, auto-detection and mid-walk tracking stop the moment you switch apps.

How do I manage my subscription?

WalkCrowd Chat subscriptions are managed through Apple. To change, cancel, or view your subscription: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, and choose WalkCrowd.

I didn’t receive my free trial.

Every new account gets a 30-day free trial of Chat automatically on first sign-in. If you don’t see it, sign out and sign back in, then email us at support@walkcrowd.com if the problem persists.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your walks, stats, follows, chats, and all associated data. Active App Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately in iOS Settings.

Someone in chat is harassing me. What do I do?

Open the chat, tap the three-dot menu at the top right, and choose Block user or Report. Blocking hides the user from Discover, Activity Feed, and Chat in both directions. Reports are reviewed by our team.
